We have arranged a program of events and services to mark this important milestone in our history

​

Anniversary Week Opening Mass​​

Sunday 11th May - 10:30am

Mass will be followed by a drinks reception

​

150th Anniversary of Opening Mass

Tuesday 13th May - 7pm

A Mass based on the original liturgy used in 1875

​

The Bell Ringers will ring a quarter peal in a new method as a special festive ring, 6pm-7pm, in honour of the opening of the new church in 1875. 

​​

Anniversary Open Day & Arts & Activities Day

Saturday 17th May - 10am - 4pm

including heritage tours, crafts, games, music, stalls, food & drink, & more - see list below

Anniversary Week Closing Mass with the Bishop of Lewes

Sunday 18th May - 10:30am

Followed by a Party in the Courtyard

Evensong & Benediction

Sunday 18th May - 5pm

Bell Ringers​

The bell ringers will ring 9:15am - 10.00am to herald the start of the Open Day

​

Timetable -

  • 10:00am doors open

  • 10:30am Guided Tour - meet by the large round tables

  • 11:15am Flower Arranging demo (in front of sanctuary)

  • 12pm Organ Recital - David Smith (our Director of Music/Church Organist/Choirmaster)

  • 1pm Guided Tour - meet by the large round tables

  • 2pm Piano Recital - Francis Rayner (in front of sanctuary)

  • 3pm Guided Tour - meet by the large round tables

  • 4pm doors close 

​

Tour guides will be around all day for ad hoc conversations.

​

The flower team will also be running “make your own flower arrangement” for a minimum donation of £3 -  by the font.

Exhibition of religious pictures from the Methodist Church touring collection - near the St Peter and St Paul chapel

 

Display about Concerts in church, west end of north aisle (by side door to porch) 

 

Tea and coffee available throughout the day in the Calvary kitchen. â€‹â€‹
