Sunday Sung Parish Mass

Our main act of worship as a Parish, Mass for the whole family with Sunday School and Holy Communion/The Eucharist. It's the traditional Mass with a sermon, candles, incense and a procession of the Sanctuary party entering and leaving the Church either end of the service.

Low Mass

A shorter service lasting around 20 minutes with Holy Communion/ The Eucharist. With prayers of remembrance and thanksgiving. Wishes of Peace and the peace with each other are offered.

Low Mass (Latin)

This is the chance to worship in the language of the Church for over 1700 years and an important, powerful reminder of our link with our past worship and the Church throughout the World. It also restores a longstanding Christ Church custom.

Evensong

At Christ Church an Evensong service would take place on a Sunday late afternoon- early evening. Though could occur on an day of the week, often with Benediction.

Taizé

Taizé Prayer is a simple, meditative form of worship, calling us to dwell deeply in Christ's presence around and within us. Repeated chants, songs, prayerful silence and short readings guide the focus of the prayer in a candle lit space.

The Taizé community was founded in 1940 by Roger Louis Schutz-Marsauche, known as Brother Roger. He died in 2005 at the age of 90. It is an eccumenical monastic order with a strong devotion to peace and justice though prayer and meditation. The 100-strong community of Roman Catholic and Protestant monks is drawn from 30 countries across the world . Prayer, silence and ecumenism are at the heart of Taizé, and the monks and visitors alike are encouraged to live out the Gospel in a spirit of joy, simplicity and reconciliation.
