There is a vacancy for the position of Churchwarden. Anyone who is interested in learning more about what this important role entails should speak to Fr Thomas in the first instance. A special election will be held in due course for the remainder of the term (which is up until the next APCM in May 2027). The role & duties are varied, but principally as per Canon E1 of the Church: + Churchwardens when admitted are officers of the bishop. + They shall be foremost in representing the laity and in co-operating with the incumbent + They shall use their best endeavours by example and precept to encourage the parishioners in the practice of true religion and to promote unity and peace among them. + They shall also maintain order and decency in the church and churchyard, especially during the time of divine service.

Harvest Festival is this Sunday the 27th September. Please join us, and bring friends & family, to give thanks to God for His gifts. As is our custom, we process to the sea after the Sung Mass for Blessing of the Sea. There will also be a table set-up for tinned & dried goods for our partners Surviving the Streets who run our foodbank. Please give generously.

Saturday 3rd October 9:30am – 12:30pm Books, Clothes, Bric-a-brac, Glassware, with a variety of other stalls including a Raffle and refreshments from the Crypt Cafe. All proceeds from the Sale are used for the ongoing costs associated with running our Church together with supporting our Church Mission. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Saturday 3rd October Towards the end of our monthly Table Sale, join us for a service at 11.30am for blessing of pets. It will also include a Pet Treat & Toy Tombola! Please join us and spread the word – in the Courtyard, but indoors if wet!

Wide variety of donated books for sale, all sorted into categories. Reasonably priced, all proceeds to Church running & Mission costs. Book Room, Christ Church Parish Centre, Church Courtyard (far left hand door) London Road. St Leonards. Everyone is very welcome to come and have a browse and pickup a bargain.

Sunday School is not currently running. Families are very welcome to join all Masses and services.

From Monday 28th September we will shift to a new schedule for Low Masses in the week. Hopefully the broader range of times will allow and encourage a wider attendance at Low Mass, as well as linking with key times volunteers are in church such as Cosy Crypt on Thursday morning & the Cleaning Team on Friday mornings. Fr Thomas will also return – pending the Archdeacon’s permission – to a single rest day per week when the new schedule starts.
